Bei Nuan found herself in an apocalypse novel that didn’t have a romantic pairing and became the holy mother female supporting character that specialized in being a drag to the team. In the end, she sacrificed the team to save a city of people and was cursed out by the readers.

Bei Nuan: I know the male protagonist and the plot. I’ll definitely be good at playing the female support character’s second chance.

There was a ding in her head. The task of the Holy Mother has begun. Play the role of a holy mother in front of the male protagonist. You can leave this world when you get to 100%.

The male protagonist, Lu Xingchi, had a bug-level existence and easily crushed everything, but one small detail left his team being wiped out.

The first thing he did after he was reborn was to plan on throwing that holy mother white lotus into a pile of zombies.

But, as the days dragged on, he found it harder and harder to do so.

Bei Nuan: There was such a good thing?

Lu Xingchi discovered that that girl, who had solemnly vowed yesterday, “I’ll follow you every step of the way. Every second that I’m separated from you is a waste of my life,” had disappeared.

The transmigration.

Bei nuan transmigrates into the apocalyptic world inside a novel she had read called- A Hurricane-esque apocalypse.  She is bound to a system called #3, who she would call little three. It’s funny cause ‘little three’ also means a mistress, but maybe Bei Nuan is just adding the little before 3 as an endearment or she was just being mischievous. Before transmigrating, she was down waiting for an express delivery guy. However, as she was waiting, a truck came rushing towards her, and she transmigrated before she could be flattened into a pancake.

Bei Nuan transmigrated as a supporting character in the novel, who is a holy mother that goes around saving others at the expense of herself and of course, her friends as well. In the novel, her character was a part of the male protagonist, Lu Xingchi’s, team. She, a drag to the team, also causes troubles for the team and became the ultimate villain that exterminates Lu Xingchi’s team, who were also her teammates. She is not really the villain, but she is no less than one, as she got Lu Xingchi and team killed, just to save a city from the zombies.

Now, Bei Nuan’s task is to walk through the whole plot while accumulating holy mother points from the male protagonist, Lu Xingchi. She is also not allowed to act out of character and do unauthorized things. So, Bei Nuan, who is the opposite of a holy mother, had to act like one in front of Lu Xingchi. And she must follow Lu Xingchi all the way till the plot ends; accumulate holy mother points until it maxes. Then she can return home to her original world and save herself from the truck. If she does not do as required of her, and fails, she would be sent back to her original world to go through the second half of being crushed by a truck. Hence, she decided to do her task seriously. Isn’t it just walking through the plot that she already knew? It should be easy right? If that’s what you think, then, no! Bei Nuan is in for a bad luck because the male protagonist, Lu Xingchi is reborn! And this time, he does not plan to take Bei Nuan into his team! Haha.

Meeting Lu Xingchi

Well, Lu Xingchi is reborn and the same system, #3 aka Little Three, gives him his only task: to walk through the plot, check in to the places he went to in his previous life. System #3 also gives him an ability of his choice- Lu Xingchi chose control over metal, out of which he made his legendary crossbow.

Lu Xingchi had made preparation in advance; he takes a customized off-road vehicle to pick up his childhood friend, Du Ruo, who he was visiting in his last life, from S-city where the zombie apocalypse started. Unlike other apocalypse novels, where finding the cause of the apocalypse is the objective of the story, in this novel, it’s clearly stated form the start: a meteorite fell in S-city and spread a virus that turned people into a zombie.

So, Bei Nuan meets and saves Du Ruo in a shop. She didn’t know he was Lu Xingchi’s friend, because she’s only read the story; she doesn’t know what the characters looks like.

Du Ruo- “You carried out such a big and heavy steel container to save me? You’re so nice.”

Lol. I love Du Ruo, he and Bei Nuan makes such a comical duo.

The scene is very comical as Bei Nuan had herself wrapped in magazines from head to toe. Du Ruo is waiting for Lu Xingchi, and when asked who he was with, he tells him that he is with a little robot(Bei Nuan). Oh, she is also given a gift- a space, from the system and she starts collecting all things that she thought useful in killing zombies. When Lu Xingchi sees Bei Nuan, he asks Du Ruo if this was the little robot he mentioned. To which Du Ruo replies,

“Yup. She’s quite cute. You can trick her back to be your wife.” 

I think Lu Xingchi took this literally after, as he does woo her later in the story.

Bei Nuan safely boards Lu Xingchi’s off road vehicle due to Du Ruo; however, she is soon dropped halfway on the road after she introduces herself. Turns out Lu Xingchi had not recognized her due to her get up, and now he refuses to take her further on the road. He is determined to keep his teammates safe and away from Bei Nuan this time around. Bei Nuan also just got to know who he and Du Ruo were, and she is puzzled at the abnormally strong Lu Xingchi, who was different and stronger than the original Lu Xingchi in the novel. She also notices that the Lu Xingchi in the novel didn’t use a crossbow.

Bei Nuan tries to persuade him to take her along at least halfway until she meets her friend (just an excuse btw), but fails; she also tells him that she is useful, has a special ability, another fail. She tries to sell pity but fails. Hahah. Left with no choice, Bei Nuan had to get off, stranded in the middle of the apocalypse. Wrapped in magazines all over her body, a helmet on her head, she stares off into the distance at the back of the quickly disappearing vehicle. This image of her, that made her look so fragile, small, lonely, sad and comical, disturbs Lu Xingchi. He is a kind man alright, but he won’t leave any leeway for life-threatening human this time. So he drives away with a kind Du Ruo goading him to take Bei Nuan along. Lu Xingchi also notices that Bei Nuan seemed like a totally different person than the one in his previous life.

Bei Nuan proves herself

Bei Nuan is not discouraged; she walks along the chaotic road as she thinks about how to follow Lu Xingchi. She stops a van, inside which was a man with Flowery tattoo in his arms. Who would be called Brother Flower/Hua, but because of his tattoo and his build like a gangster, Bei Nuan refuses to get into his van and apologizes. Soon she stops a bright yellow mini car. This time, she gets into the mini car because the man looked gentle and kind. Haha. It’s all about looks alright. They soon drive towards a gas station for gas. The people there had not mutated yet, but after a while they did and Mr.Gentle-looking young man soon dies in a brave battle with a zombie. In reality, he didn’t even get a chance to make a move. Amen. Bei Nuan runs off with a zombie on tow. She falls, she had no steel container to save herself this time, so she takes out a watermelon from space and smashed it on the zombie’s head. However, the zombie was not dead; it tries to chomp down on her. But do you think the magazines wrapped around her body were just a decoration?  It was of use okay, she’s saved, only for the time being. After, watermelon, cucumber failed, she finally found and took out a lethal weapon- a giant durian. But before she could use it, she was saved by Lu Xingchi who returned for her halfway because he was worried, but refuses to admit it. Du Ruo knows it all though. Lu Xingchi was worried as he couldn’t get the desolate image of her out of his mind; also Du Ruo’s goading didn’t help at all. 

Du Ruo— “Do you think she’ll fall into the hands of zombies or people? Lu Xingchi, which one do you want to bet on?” 

So Lu Xingchi turned back only to see her get into a yellow car. 

Lu Xingchi thought, ‘at this time she dared to get into anyone’s car. She didn’t have any sense of vigilance at all!’ He is a kind man alright.

This time, Bei Nuan uses beauty trap. When Lu XIngchi asks her if she was bitten(he would kill her if she was bitten), Bei Nuan hurriedly denies and exposes her calf to him “for inspection”. But Lu Xingchi exposed her. Hahah. 

He says, “Beauty Trap? Do you think that will stop me from killing you?” 

It’s hilarious how Lu Xingchi would eat his own words later on. The Beauty Trap works I promise.

Bei Nuan clears the convenience store at the gas station, leaving only noodles she didn’t like for Lu Xingchi >=< . She finds him pitiful for having to pick up the things she didn’t want. Bei Nuan’s space has two section, Upper layer- where time didn’t flow, and the lower layer where time flows normally. Oh how I want this kind of space too. Also, Lu xingchi had already caught on that Bei Nuan’s ability was probably some kind of space. He just pretends he hadn’t seen Bei Nuan sweeping everything into her space.

Lu Xingchi still refuses to take her along. Bei-who had failed her driving test five times before passing and hadn’t touched the steering wheel since-Nuan, follows behind Lu Xingchi’s vehicle in her Yellow mini car which she is now the owner of. They soon pass by a village and Bei Nuan has to do tasks from the system. The tasks are embarrassing and hilarious alright. Lu Xingchi also makes hilarious remarks at Bei Nuan when she does tasks. I just love it though I won’t go into detail. Go find it out yourself if you haven’t read it.

In the village, they have to pay to pass through the road, which delayed some time as the villagers wouldn’t let anyone pass without paying up. Just then, some people mutated and in the chaos, Bei Nuan runs towards Lu Xingchi’s jeep. That’s right folks, this is how she will follow them in their car. Lu Xingchi sees through her plan and smiles. In the chaos, their car was stuck, they had to abandon them, but we all know Bei Nuan would take them into her space. So when she lags behind, Lu Xingchi says—

“Why are you lagging behind?”

Bei Nuan was moved. Me too. They need a car to go to Ningcheng, their next destination and when they laments, Bei Nuan reveals her ability. She asks them to close their eyes, and she only took out Lu Xingchi’s car haha. She is full of tricks! Lu Xingchi knows her intention to ride in it. She then tells them that she has nowhere to go, trying to be pitiful, but it’s also the truth. So the kind Du Ruo goes,

“Since you have nowhere to go, why don’t you come with us?”

 Lu Xingchi goes, 

“Bei Nuan, knock it off, your act won’t work on me. I know you’re pretending.” Also, “Well, you helped me out. I can take you along until I find a safe place to leave you.” “You’re not a good driver, and Du Ruo falls for your act. If I leave you behind, he will keep nagging me”   

“I have conditions- three in fact. First, follow my orders; you cannot make any arbitrary decisions on your own. Second, hide your special ability. Be careful; don’t let others know about it.” 

Bei Nuan stopped pretending to be pitiful- “Third condition?” 

Lu Xingchi had not decided yet. But if she violates any of the conditions, she is to get off immediately.

Bei Nuan then annoys Lu Xingchi, by going, 

“Can I eat a package of charcoal-grilled mini sausage? You just said I can’t make any decisions on my own.” Lu Xingchi— “You’re deliberately provoking me.” 

Bei Nuan is fearless after successfully getting into their car haha. She feeds Lu Xingchi a sausage too, despite him not wanting one. And that is how she enters Lu Xingchi’s heart bit by bit. 

Du Ruo, “Why do you keep feeding him? He is so cold blooded. Why don’t you feed me instead?”  Bei Nuan, “His hands aren’t free”.

Bei Nuan follows along.

The group of three soon reached Ningcheng, where the situation was still normal. Lu Xingchi drives to a supermarket. Bei Nuan feels a bit pained to not have enough cash. But soon, with the local tyrant Lu Xingchi’s grace, she was able to go into Buy-Buy-Buy mode. Lu Xingchi handed her a credit card, and said—

“Use this. Buy food and our daily necessities. Girls are more careful. You won’t forget to buy important things.”

Bei Nuan saves a middle aged man having asthma attack, who everyone thought was going through zombie mutation. Nope, she was not being kind; she was just completing her task which was to hold a man bitten by zombie and say: Who can save him? Is there anyone who can save him? 

Like everyone, she had also thought he was going to mutate but turns out it was a false alarm. Lu Xingchi says his grandma also had asthma and he had hoped someone would be there that would help her. Lu Xingchi is a lone wolf now okay; he doesn’t have any family members left, except for a half-elder brother, who he is not in contact with. Lu Xingchi also threatens Bei Nuan, warning her to not act on her own again. They then go for outdoor products shopping again. Lu Xingchi also buys a portable camping shower. He is obsessed with cleanliness. Oh, Bei Nuan gets stab resistant neck braces- to protect the delicate spot that is zombies’ favourite. After that, they are fully stocked. They now have everything that they needed, also things they didn’t need. Because Lu Xingchi said—

 “Your pocket dimension is bigger than I though. We’ll continue shopping”.

 He buys lots of identical shirts, pants and other things. Du Ruo also goes on his own shopping spree after asking about the pocket dimension. He buys a lot of board games. This team is very unusual okay; they don’t have the right mindset in facing the apocalypse! 

Then, instead of escaping, the three books a room at a 5-star hotel, because Lu Xingchi wanted to take a shower. Bro got priorities alright. It’s also because of his task— to go the exact same route and spend the exact same time at the places he visited in his previous life. Bei Nuan wanted nothing more than to escape first. They had a little exchange with the receptionist at the hotel, Bei Nuan urges her to leave. 

The receptionist asks, “Why aren’t you guys leaving?” Bei Nuan, solemnly, “We want to seize the chance to enjoy life before the end of the world.” 

They had just booked a presidential suite; the receptionist looked at the three of them and misunderstood.

She says,“You’re right. You should enjoy life. I wish you three… um… a happy time.” 

Hahah. She thought they were going to have a threes*me. The two men knew what the receptionist meant, but it took a while for Bei Nuan to catch on. And the receptionist had already left before she could correct her.

Bei Nuan gets a warning from Lu Xingchi for shouting at the people to escape immediately without permission.

Du Ruo takes out a knife which was flashy and looked like a cosplay prop. It was called the Minghong knife. This is his choice of weapon. Like the dude isn’t serious at all. But this knife would later prove to be very useful. And Bei Nuan… she chose a crowbar as her weapon. 

Du Ruo, “…” “It’s okay, we have him(Lu Xingchi) anyways.” 

Just like that, Lu Xingchi has to carry two teammates(naughty kids) that do not have a serious mindset in facing the apocalypse.

Another teammate- Jiang Fei.

Jiang Fei was a prisoner who escaped after the apocalypse and Lu Xingchi saved him in the original novel. Now, Lu Xingchi has to save him again. The task is to check-in to places he visited in his previous life, but he decided to save him again because he was his teammate, and also the strongest and most responsible one in the team after Lu Xingchi. This Jiang Fei was Bei Nuan’s boyfriend in the original novel. They weren’t official, yet they were considered as a couple because of how ambiguous they were. Bei Nuan had taken care of the injured Jiang Fei and fed him her chewed biscuits in the original novel when he was unconscious. But this time, Bei Nuan had no plans to do the disgusting feeding process. She just took out a baby puree pack and with a DIY stand, she stuck the puree packet to his mouth handing from the stand. She was in a hurry him to eat hotpot by the riverside, fearing that Du Ruo, a foodie, would not leave any for her.

Just like in the novel, Jiang Fei is very grateful to Bei Nuan, and is loyal now. Also, when they were waiting for Jiang Fei at a restaurant to save him, they also came across news about a Zombie Virus inhibitor— this thing makes the zombies ignore people that are injected with it. Now this is knew knowledge as it was not mentioned in the original novel and nor had Lu Xingchi come across it in his previous life. They would not have found out had they not gone back to the restaurant.

Lu Xingchi shows vague signs of unhappiness over Bei Nuan fussing over Jiang Fei. Now you tell me if her beauty trap and tricks worked or not.
